Why not send both and cover your bases?

Hardie Smith

I think it is a personal decision as to which format you chose. I will sometimes send at PDF and a MS Word resume if I think the company has tracking capabilities. I lean toward the PDF for security reasons and how the format is going to look to the potential employer.

Why not send your your resume in both formats and play it save. Security in a .docx is easy to set to read only so it cannot be changed. Most .PDF resumes are written in word and saved as .PDF, so save it twice.

Send it in the 2 formats mentioned , PDF nowadays seems acceptable...allow tradition seems to favor word docs
