There seems to be plenty of jobs out there but they are not livable wage jobs.

Over the past year I have been unemployed for the first time in my 35 years of work history. When my last position was terminated, I honestly thought that finding another job would be a non-issue but here we are a year later and out of E.I benefits. An interesting comment was made by a person involved in college guidance/retraining programs that all the experience I have would not get me into an interview, but would indeed get me the job. Due to the fact I have no "official degree", even though I have been extensively involved in sales, marketing, business management, etc . . .

Free trade pacts like NAFTA are allowing companies like General Mills to move jobs vital to our economy to other countries where labor is cheaper and then ship them back here while we pay for goods "Made in China." Our federal deficit is growing by $9 billion a day thanks to our military spending as a result of our wars, one of which was thanks to our lying leaders. And thanks to a government that didn't protect its citizens from fraudulent lending practices like Adjustable Rate Mortgages, our housing market could now spin our economy into a recession. We need new leaders who care about the people, not their corporate sponsors.

Comments on the job market: DON'T BE OVER 55 AND TRY AND FIND A JOB. EMPLOYERS DONT WANT THE SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE THAT SOME ONE WHO HAD BEEN IN THE WORK FORCE FOR 40 YEARS.
Hay employers ! the way the job market is today we mature employees arn't planning to retireing any time soon; if thats your worry.We know how to work and we are not going to be taking time off work to go to a party of have a hangover.
